Product Description
Perfumer's Alcohol Base
Overview
Our Perfume’s Alcohol specifically designed as a base for making perfumes and aftershaves. When working with fragrances you have three steps for making a strong fragrance, taking the fragrance from an oil to the air, moving the fragrance through the air and finally transferring the fragrance to your nose. Our perfumers alcohol contains a blend of ingredients for creating the perfect perfume. Our blend consists of cosmetic grade denatured ethanol, Isopropyl Myristate for skin absorption and propylene glycol to control evaporation rate for a long lasting fragrance.
How to use
Our perfumer’s alcohol is designed so that you just add the fragrance compounds to the base to create a safe, wearable fragrance. A good quality fragrance oil will require less than 10% fragrance for a strong, long lasting smell.
IFRA International Fragrance Association
When choosing a fragrance, make sure that it has an IFRA certificate which shows a safe usage limit for it to be used in a Class 4.A product if you’re making Perfume or Class 3.A if you’re making aftershave. Exceeding the limit can result in skin irritation when using the final product.
Tips
When making a perfume the goal is to make it as strong as possible but not too strong so that it triggers the wearer’s nose to block out the smell. By making a perfume too strong the smell to the wearer will only last a few minutes however the people round them could be left smelling it for hours after they’ve left.
